The 7-11 breathing, as featured on the 16 Guidelines app, is a simple and effective method to slow down and be more calm and relaxed.
- Breathe in deeply through your nose to the count of seven.
- Don’t just breathe from the upper chest – imagine you are inflating a balloon in your stomach
- If you can, hold your breath for a moment
- Breathe out through your nose to the count of eleven, allowing your neck and shoulders to relax
- Repeat three times
- Notice any changes to your body or mind
