The Compassion & Wisdom in Action Webinar Series takes inspiration from FDCW's Honorary President Lama Zopa Rinpoche's work of encouraging people around the world to bring compassion into every aspect of their lives.

Compassion is often described as walking in somebody else's shoes but it is more than just empathy. It is an active wish to help others with skill and consideration. This webinar series asks how willing are we to be with our own pain, and the pain of others? What resources do we have to support us? How can we reach inside to find the wise way to act that helps not harms?

Drawing from timeless Buddhist teachings, modern psychology and neuroscience, our experienced speakers will show ways of weaving compassion into the fabric of our lives - from solving daily problems to facing death, from self-compassion to modern working life, from meditation to a more joyful way of living.

You can organise your life with wisdom. How? One way is by trying to make it beneficial to others rather than by living it simply for your own enjoyment. When your life is integrated and you're a wise, knowledgeable person giving a beautiful, peaceful vibration to others, it's so worthwhile.- Lama Yeshe, Founder of Universal Education and FDCW

In this very special webinar Paula advised us to just pay attention to what's arising in our mind having an attitude of non-judgment and to make friends with ourselves.  We can use our breath, listen to the voices going on as these are what prevent us being friends with ourselves. We need to ask where does this voice come from, often it is found in the body and needs to be heard and let go. she shared : "We want to create a safe space inside of me where I am accepted and loved." This session included a guided practice led by Paula where she introduced the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).

Ven Carla Pearse, Kirsten DeLeo and Bruno Rizzi shared their practical advice on:

  • How can we prepare for our own death and the aging process with compassion and wisdom?

  • What is the most important thing to remember at the time of death?

  • How we can face the physical and mental pain of death?

  • How can we be most helpful for someone who is going through the death process or has a terminal diagnosis.

The session included a meditation guided by Ven Carla Pearse
